Zion, Part 1

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!  Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!  Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.  I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the war horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off, and he shall speak peace to the nations; his rule shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth,” Zechariah 9:9-10.
A melody is carried upon the breezes from a distant place.
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.  Behold, I am doing a new thing, now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?  I will make a way…” Isaiah 43:18-19.
The atmosphere is changing and a possibility has opened up.
“Go through, go through the gates; prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway; clear it of stones; lift up a signal over the peoples,” Isaiah 62: 10.
And a Man rides upon its openness.
“…and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forever more.  The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this,” Isaiah 9:6-7.
He has come down to rule in a new way from a new place.
“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, ‘Your God reigns’.  The voice of your watchmen – they lift up their voice; together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see the return of the Lord to Zion.  Break forth together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem, for the Lord has comforted his people; he has redeemed Jerusalem.  The Lord has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God,” Isaiah 52:7-10.
Good news. …an Intercessor to make intercessors from the inside out.  Someone to soothe and comfort and save us.   In Him, a meeting place has been established where God and man could agree with one another again.  A King enthroned within Zion to work justice from inside her walls….
